Unrelated issues disconnected both services this afternoon

If you can’t connect to Spotify or Discord, then no, it’s not just you, but your Internet connection. Both services acknowledged the problems on Tuesday afternoon. However, at this point, there does not appear to be a problem with multiple DNS or Amazon Web Services (AWS). Of course, Apple’s event servers are still up and running, and we haven’t lost access to security cameras or robotic vacuum cleaners, but coincidence isn’t uncommon.

According to Discord, after restarting their streaming service to resolve the issue, a new issue caused their API to fail, and about 30 minutes later, they were still investigating. Spotify Status Account Tweeted at 13:22 PM ET “We have seen it the throws”, but we have no further details offered about what happened.

Up to 2:39 am, Spotify status tweeted that things look great, and see reports that indicate most people online. Meanwhile, Discord says the “Task started to restore the service.” So if you can’t join you can easily.
