Two nights after a man attacked Dave Chappelle on stage during his set at the “Netflix is a Joke” comedy festival in Los Angeles, Chris Rock joked with the comedian by saying he was slapped by the “softest” person “that ever rapped,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.will smith
The Comedy Store in Los Angeles hosted Chappelle and Rock on Thursday night, two nights after Chappelle’s set at the Hollywood Bowl was interrupted, THR senior writer Seth Abramovich, who attended the event, reported.
Chappelle told Rock, THR, “At least you got smacked by someone reputed!”. I got smacked by a homeless man with leaves in his hair.”
Rock responded: “I got smacked by the softest n—- that ever rapped,” THR reported.
He was referring to the time Will Smith slapped him at the Oscars after he made a joke about Jada Pinkett-Smith.
Chappelle told the crowd Thursday night that he talked to the man who rushed the stage and ran into him.
Chappelle told the station that the suspect, identified by police as 23-year-old Isaiah Lee, told him a story about his grandmother who was forced out of her New York neighborhood because of gentrification.
According to THR, Chappelle said the suspect told him the rush was meant to draw attention to her difficult situation. Chappelle said he and the suspect also discussed the Johnny Depp-Amber Heard defamation trial and Roe v. Wade.
Lee has been charged with four misdemeanors, including battery, possession of a weapon with the intent to assault, and interfering with a performance.
The network reported on Friday that Lee had pleaded not guilty and that his bond had been set at $30,000.
Before, Rock refused to comment on the incident without a paycheck.
“I’m fine, I have a whole show, and I can’t talk about it until I get paid,” he told the Palm Springs Desert Sun . “I got my hearing back.”
Rock’s family members, including his brother, comedian Tony Rock, and his mother, Rose Rock, have spoken out about the incident. Rose Rock said her family was affected by Smith’s actions. Tony Rock has previously said he would ‘pop’ if Smith ran up onstage while he was performing.
“He slapped all of us when he slapped Chris,” she told WIS-TV. “He really hit me.”
She also noted that Smith overshadowed the presentation of the Academy Award for best documentary feature to Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson for ” Summer of Soul.”
Everyone was sitting there asking, “What just happened?”,” she added.
Oscar winner breaks his silence
Everybody is eager to hear Will Smith’s first words after the infamous slap he gave Chris Rock at the Academy Awards 2022.
The Oscar winner for Best Actor has already set a date to break his silence, as well as knowing with whom he will speak.
The 53-year-old will be a guest on David Letterman ‘s Netflix series, My Next Guest Needs No Introduction, which has already featured Dave Chappelle, Kim Kardashian, and former President Barack Obama, according to ComicBook.com.
Streamers can see this episode just a few weeks after Smith reacted explosively to Rock’s GI Jane joke. Rock was making a reference to Rock’s wife’s shaved head, which she suffers from alopecia.
Can I watch the Letterman episode with Will Smith?
It will consist of six episodes, each featuring a different guest, including Cardi B, Kevin Durant, Billie Eilish, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Ryan Reynolds.
The actor will have the opportunity to talk openly and honestly with Letterman, but he will not be able to talk about the moment because the interview took place before the Oscars.
Letterman and Smith will talk after recent weeks of speculation about Smith and Pinkett’s relationship, speculating about a possible divorce, and mentioning that the actor is in a spiritual retreat in India seeking emotional stability after being singled out for his physical attack against Rock and the news of the problems in his marriage.
Guy Ritchie directed the live-action reboot of Aladdin with Will Smith as Genie .
Another prince from that universe will soon get his chance to shine.
Magnussen will reprise his role as Prince Anders in a film that will premiere on Disney+.
He is the prince that Princess Jasmine horribly shoots down in Aladdin.
Prince Anders is the character that is loosely based on Prince Achmed from the original animated film, only Anders wasn’t that much of a jerk.
He was simply outdone by the charm from Aladdin.
Prince Anders was a nice guy from the made-up land of Skaland, but he was also a bit bumbling.
In an upcoming spin-off film, he appears to take center stage.
It’s an interesting direction, but Disney could be trying to expand the universe created by Will Smith.
Magnussen says it’s in development.
- red table talk
- i am legend 2
- will smith fresh prince
- tupac and jada
I am definitely excited about this … I really liked coming up with that character, and now I have the opportunity to create a world and a story with him in it. I really appreciate the opportunity.”
Below is a picture of Prince Anders:
Billy Magnussen could have done a lot to help studio executives create a complete movie about this unusual character if he had been involved.
Jafar mentions that Prince Anders could be a military alliance with Agrabah, so it could be that although he seems foolish, he is actually a strong military leader.
It makes sense that Anders has a strong military background, given his accent and the soldiers standing behind him resemble a Nordic type.
There is the possibility that the character could find the lamp and break out a genie of his own
I think it’s safe to say that Will Smith won’t be returning to his original role due to the fact that Hollywood has shunned him in recent years.
As soon as the film was released, it became an instant hit for Disney, earning over $1 billion at the box office.
Clearly, investing in this universe is a smart move. Among this successful reimagining of sorts were Will Smith, Mena Massoud, Naomi Scott, Marwan Kenzari, Navid Negahban, and Billy Magnussen.
A It is also being said that a sequel is in the works, though it will be some time before it is released.
Currently, fans might not see this Prince Anders spin-off before Aladdin 2.
Some of the original cast may return as well, though it is unlikely that all will.
It is theoretically possible for Prince Anders to attack Agrabah for making him out to be some sort of full.
